DCEU: 5 Reasons to be Hyped for the future of DC Movies

Learn from the Past, Embrace the Future

The way Aquaman is progressing Warner Brothers finally has some common sense. The studio is finally letting the directors do their job. This is a problem WB has had in the past.

Suicide Squad and Justice League are the best examples of why studio interference isn’t good. Thankfully there is somebody new in the driving seat for DC who is paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.

Walter Hamada made changes from the get-go and he appears to be not interfering with the creative team. This is essential so as to not compromise a director’s vision. Using Marvel as an example, most of their movies work because they let the director breathe. The one time they didn’t, looking at you Avengers: Age of Ultron, the movie immediately became one of their weaker entries.

This is a problem DC continuously faces, but with directors having control, the movies can thrive. When a studio interferes, all you get is trouble.

Geoff Johns is writing the screenplay for Green Lantern Corps, a franchise he knows well. His New 52 run delved into more of the Lantern mythology so there is no better person to write the film. Hopefully, it will be better than the last Green Lantern adaptation.

Chris McKay (LEGO Batman) is writing and directing the Nightwing movie and is a huge fan of the character. He is making sure the script and casting process is perfect before going anywhere near production.

These are only five reasons to release the DC hype engine, and only time can tell if they are true. DC’s future certainly looks brighter than it did before.
