Most fans were sure that James Wan and Warner Brother Pictures would premiere a teaser trailer for Aquaman at WonderCon this past weekend. Most fans were surprised that it didn’t happen, for this was the perfect time for the release of the Aquaman trailer. Alas, it didn’t happen, and many fans are scratching their heads wondering why? Director James took the chance to give the rare answer fan outcry. It is simple, the film and the trailer are not ready yet.

James Wan took a moment to answer why there was no trailer dropped at this weekend and also to debut a few rumors regarding production via Twitter:
“Hey friends, I usually do my best to avoid internet noises (especially fabricated distractions) but a teaser-trailer going out this weekend was never in the books — despite what some claim. It’s not because of anyone or any nefarious reason holding it back — IT’S ME. I am simply not ready yet to share.

This movie is filled to the gills with VFX, and the process is as slow and laborious as a sea-slug! Yes, even shots for the trailers take forever to do, and I refuse to put out anything that might be construed as subpar. I know it seems like nothing much is brewing above the surface, but I can assure you, we’re working nonstop under the waves. (Ps: And yes, I plan to use oceanic puns/references every chance I get).”
Given the very recent trend of not releasing a single trailer until the very last minute, it wouldn’t surprise me to not have an Aquaman trailer for a few more months. The actual trailer (hopefully not the teaser) will happen more-than-likely at San Diego Comic-Con this year. Hopefully we get the teaser before then. That way, the full trailer is assured.
