Looks Like ‘The Batman’ Script Will be Scrapped and Rewritten

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Brothers Pictures

Yesterday a report came down that the Ben Affleck-led DC film The Batman was pushed back due to commitments that new director Matt Reeves had before signing on to do the film. But a new rumor has popped up at Slashfilm, that hints that things are more dire with the film than previously thought.

According to one of their sources, the previous script that was written for The Batman will be completely scrapped, and a new one will be penned. The rumors swirling about the first script of the film will more-than-likely be altered, and characters changed. Ben Affleck, DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns, and Chris Terrio penned the first script, with rumors that it needed refining. That was when  Affleck left the directors chair. It was thought that Affleck left due to a recent report that he completed a rehab program for alcoholism, but if the script is that bad, then that was all the more reason for him to step down as director.

The first script had Batman face off against the mercenary Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello)

Reports surfaced yesterday that production on the Ben Affleck-led and Matt Reeves-directed “The Batman” has been pushed back due to Reeves’ commitments to other projects. A new rumor at Slashfilm suggests that things may be more serious than expected.
