Iron Fist, Netflix

With the recent news that Netflix canned their second Marvel television series in as many weeks. This time around, Iron Fist falls, just when the second season seemed to save the show after a horrible first season. But is Iron Fist really dead for good?

There are a few things to pay attention to. First off, Disney has a streaming service on the horizon. Secondly, There are still Marvel shows alive on Netflix within that same universe. I think that the canceling of Iron Fist and Luke Cage are signs that these shows might move to the streaming service, and Disney is beginning to build its catalog, according to Deadline.

Iron Fist season 2 opened up a few potential story arcs that couldn’t also be interesting in the future, should Netflix retain the rights for their shows.

EW reports that Finn Jones’ Danny Rand will continue to show up in other shows across Netflix. His cameo in Luke Cage was brilliant and gave us a taste of a more mature Danny Rand.

Netflix isn’t finished with its Marvel shows though. Daredevil Season 3 just hit the streaming service and is already planning a Season 4. The Punisher is also coming back soon, with filming finishing on Season 2. This doesn’t mean that Luke and Danny are finished. Their shows canceling opens the doors for a potential Heroes for Hire series.

Jessica Jones is still staying afloat, and there is no word on Defenders Season 2.
