New ‘Star Wars’ Series and Movies Revealed

Obi-Wan Kenobi

While Obi-Wan Kenobi isn’t a surprise, it’s still welcome. Returning from his standout portrayal in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Ewan McGregor is back as Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s confirmed the limited series starts production in March 2021 and is helmed by Deborah Chow. It will come to Disney+.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. After losing his friend and apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, to the dark side, what is Obi-Wan going through? What is he doing while he keeps an eye on Luke Skywalker? These are the questions that will hopefully be answered.

One question that is already answered is if we’ll see anybody else from the prequels returning. Kathleen Kennedy confirmed at the investor meeting that Hayden Christensen is returning as Darth Vader.

It’ll be interesting to see if Hayden is only going to be Darth Vader or if we’ll get flashbacks of him as Anakin.

Coming from the official Star Wars site, Hayden Christensen commented on his return:

“It was such an incredible journey playing Anakin Skywalker. Of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t on the greatest of terms when we last saw them… It will be interesting to see what an amazing director like Deborah Chow has in store for us all. I’m excited to work with Ewan again. It feels good to be back.”

According to the LucasFilm President, it will be the rematch of the century.
