New ‘Star Wars’ Series and Movies Revealed

Animated

Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7 introduces a clone unit gone wrong. These are the misfits who aren’t like the rest of the clones. The Bad Batch follows these clones in their misadventures while bringing back established characters like Moff Tarkin.

The official release from starwars.com states:

The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.

Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.

In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.

Star Wars: Visions is a series of animated short films from a multitude of Japanese anime studios. It’s confirmed there will be 10 shorts but that is all LucasFilm has announced so far. Hopefully, it won’t be long until we hear more news on this.

The next animated project is A Droid Story. Lucasfilm Animation and Industrial Light & Magic are teaming-up for this one. What that means is unclear but there’s a possibility it could be a mix of 3D animation and CGI.

What we do know is that a new hero will be introduced and they will have help from R2-DS and C-3PO.
