‘Orphans’ – Reality Games’ New Game Is Available Now
Orphans is the latest interactive messenger game from Reality Games. For those out of the loop, Reality Games specialise in story-based and interactive mobile games. We recently reviewed their last game, The Healing. That one revolves around a Plague Doctor calling themselves Dr. Crow who wants to ‘heal’ the world by forcing people through their fears. They were also the developers of The Sign – Ghost Dimension and the Seven games.
Last month, Reality Games released a trailer for the Orphans. Within it, they revealed the game was coming soon. Well, as of the beginning of February, it’s no longer coming soon. Orphans is finally here. Much like their other games, it’s an episodic release. It’s unclear how many episodes it will be but past games were around five or six. Currently, the first two episodes are available to play.
The official synopsis teases a supernatural spook:
A group of friends sets out to an abandoned orphanage that is surrounded by dark rumors and legends to record more footage for their “Lost Places” channel. As they arrive at the location and set up their equipment, they’re confronted with inexplicable phenomena and the situation seems to be getting out of control. What starts as a harmless excursion soon turns into a trip from hell!
This isn’t their first foray into the supernatural side. The Sign – Ghost Dimension is about a spirit who wants to kill you after watching a video. Although, there’s more to it than what meets the eye and soon you’re juggling multiple compelling stories that leads to an interesting end. Let’s hope Orphans provides a similar experience. Given the other games, I think it will. I’ve just started playing it and I’m enjoying it already.
If you’re in Germany, you’ve probably already played the first two episodes as they were available last year. Meanwhile, a French version is usually also made and comes after the English version. The last post on the French Instagram was about the company looking for French talent, presumably for their version of Orphans.
