Review – Millarworld’s ‘Nemesis Reloaded #4’

Nemesis Reloaded #4 is the next issue in the soft reboot of Millarworld’s infamous villain. Mark Millar writes it while the art is from Jorge Jiménez. Nemesis is a wealthy supervillain who can be seen as an evil Batman. However, he’s so much more than just that. He is sadistic, cunning and the last person you’d want to meet.

Be warned while there won’t be spoilers for this issue, there will be spoilers for the previous ones.

In the previous issue, Nemesis ramps up his attacks on the city. He kills the Police Commissioner while the mayor goes after him. We also saw more flashbacks to Nemesis’ past and the revelation of a secret American president.

Nemesis Reloaded #4 shows the supervillain at his worse. He might be trying to unearth an old secret but he’s also killing innocent people. His warped quest for vengeance against the people who do the right thing is an interesting concept. These aren’t crooked cops, they’re people who lived by the book and got rid of criminals. Nemesis hates this.

However, what makes him connectable is his other quest to figure out what happened to the secret American president. Could his villainy become something more? Keep your eyes peeled for some fun easter eggs too!

It almost feels as if Nemesis Reloaded is setting up the Big Game (a massive crossover featuring characters from across Millarworld that releases in July). Until then, we have more Nemesis Reloaded to come.

Nemesis Reloaded #4 hits the shelves on Wednesday 12th April 2023.
