You can check out the official Shudder synopsis below:
Three small-time thieves specializing in home burglary pose as caterers for a fancy dinner party at the Malibu mansion of the extravagantly wealthy Dawson family.
But their plan for the perfect heist goes horribly wrong when they discover that the Dawsons and their guests are actually a support group of recovering serial killers.
When one of the addicts can’t resist the urge to attack, this simple cash grab becomes an all-out battle for survival where no one is safe.
At first glance Monster Party sounds like Don’t Breathe. Both movies are about robbers who get more than what they bargain for. However, this time around, they come face to face with a support group of serial killers. This puts three ordinary people against blood-thirsty killers.
There’s also more to the group than what meets the eye. You’ll be left guessing who the main character is until the third act. There are even moments you’ll change who you’re rooting for.
While Monster Party isn’t the best movie ever, it isn’t awful either. It’s a good horror that helps to pass the time. Moreover, with the casting of Julian McMahon as a serial killer, you know you’re in for a creepy time.
Viewers who are easily squeamish may not enjoy the movie. There is a lot of blood and gore. However, at the heart of it all is a story about relationships, but maybe not the kind you’re expecting.
