Unlike the others on this list, Cursed Films isn’t a movie. It’s a five-part documentary series exploring horror movies where things went wrong during filming. It’s one for any horror fan who wants to know more about behind the scenes of some of the genre’s biggest movies.

This is how Shudder describes it:

CURSED FILMS is a five-part documentary series, which explores the myths and legends behind some of Hollywood’s notoriously “cursed” horror film productions.

From plane accidents and bombings during the making of The Omen, to the rumored use of human skeletons on the set of Poltergeist, these stories are legendary amongst film fans and filmmakers alike.

But where does the truth lie?

The first episode explores to The Exorcist. It delves into the mysterious accidents during filming and reports of fainting while people watched it. The episode also brings in real-world exorcists to show the difference between the movie and the real-world.

Episode two features The Omen, while the rest of the series delves into Poltergeist, The Crow and Twilight Zone: the Movie. The Crow episode is a hard one to watch considering the tragedy that befell Brandon Lee on-set.

Meanwhile, episode three explores if real human skeletons were used during production of Poltergeist.
