‘The Haunting…’ Continues on Netflix

Last year saw an adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House come to Netflix. After a positive reception from fans and critics alike a second season is in the works.

However, the series created by Mike Flanagan isn’t returning to Hill House. Instead, it will venture onto a different haunting from another literary work.

In the teaser released by Netflix, the title is there but it isn’t complete, showcasing The Haunting of *** *****.

So where is the next season set?

If you pay close attention to the voice in the teaser you may be able to decipher what it’s from. The voice says “the lawn and the garden beyond it.”

For those familiar with the work of Henry James they will recognize it from his novella The Turn of the Screw. From this, it makes sense for the title of Season 2 to be The Haunting of  Bly House.

The terrace and the whole place, the lawn and the garden beyond it, all I could see of the park, were empty with a great emptiness.”

This fits into the *** and *****, and would make sense given the first season in the anthology was Hill House.
