The Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad is a failure critically and with most fans but financially it’s a success. David Ayer has since come out and spoken of his feelings toward the movie but there seems to be a new Director in charge.
The script and directing duties on The Suicide Squad comes from the mind of Guardian’s of the Galaxy Director James Gunn. It also now appears he will be directing it as well.
After decades-old questionable tweets surfaced, Disney and Marvel parted ways with James Gunn before he could make Guardians of the Galaxy 3. After his firing from Marvel, rumors suggest he would make the jump and now it’s been confirmed.
DC Daily host Tiffany Smith confirms the news on the show in October:
“It’s official that we have got a new member of the DC family. Acclaimed writer/director James Gunn is attached to write Suicide Squad 2.
Gunn is poised to bring a completely fresh take to the franchise after the first film was written and directed by David Ayer.”
It seems James Gunn will bring a fresh take to The Suicide Squad. This means new characters, and even a new cast for already established characters.
Guardians veteran Dave Bautista has expressed interest in joining Gunn for the project as he tweeted “Where do I sign up?” after retweeting an article about it.
The Suicide Squad will release the 6th August 2021.
