High Fidelity (2000)
High Fidelity is a tale about someone dealing with a break-up, but not in any healthy way. High Fidelity shows you what not to do. Starring John Cousack, HF has an interesting way of showing you the crumbling psyche of a heartbroken record store producer as he tries to make sense of why the break-up happened, and who is to blame for it. It is a journey that we all go through when handling a break-up.
Yes, this film has a way of being funny at times (I think it is one of Jack Black’s best roles), but High Fidelity is a journey through the anguish of loss. It takes you from disbelief, through emptiness, all the way to acceptance. When you finally find acceptance of your break-up anything becomes possible. You find a way to love yourself again, and you regain all of the potential that you felt you lost.
