Star Wars always extended itself beyond the core movies. Before the Disney acquisition, we had the Expanded Universe. Fans love to delve deep into novels, comics or video games to flesh out the world they know and love.

Even if we do see a decline in the number of films produced over the next few years, there’s always a plethora of media to enjoy.

The success of last year’s video game Jedi: Fallen Order means we soon might see a follow-up. Rumors of a sequel crept out since the game’s initial launch.

Another video game’s also in development from EA’s Motive studio in Montreal. Sources say it will be a very unique Star Wars experience.

One of the most-enticing projects in development is Project Luminous. This will be a multimedia initiative that will tell one huge, connecting story across comic books and novels.

Similar to what Lucasfilm did with Shadows of the Empire back in the 90’s, albeit slightly less expansive. The Five authors’ announced for the project: Claudia Gray, Justine Ireland, Daniel José Older, Cavan Scott and Charles Soule.

These Star Wars vets all head the writing duties for the various branches. We have no current idea about plot, setting or characters, but the initial announcement hinted that the mythology of the Force will factor in somehow.

Disney’s making additional announcements about the project on February 24.
