They said the ages of heroes would never come again, and yet out of the ashes of the Justice League, DC movies has flourished. With the likes of Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey reception has been changing to the positive.
However, before those movies were even an idea there was another. There was a movie that continued the story from Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League was changed after tragedy struck in his family and he had to walk away. Snyder needed the time to mourn rather than spending it on something far inferior in comparison. Walking away from a tent pole Hollywood movie is not something anyone can begrudge him, especially not for his reasons.
Ever since Whedon’s version of Justice League came out there has been a vocal movement to make Warner Brothers release the original version. There are fans who want to see what the first trailer showed us.
For me, I want to see Snyder’s vision because I believe in the director’s getting to finish their vision. After all, it’s their job as the director and yet studios continue to interfere and ruin creativity. You only need to look at Spider-Man 3 or The Amazing Spider-Man movies to see what happens when directors aren’t left alone.
For the SnyderCut fans, the bell has been rung. During a watch party for Man of Steel director Zack Snyder announced his version of Justice League is coming. That’s right, Snyder fans, you can rest now.
After Man of Steel Snyder and his wife hosted a Q&A with Henry Cavill. After fielding a question about the existence of the Snydercut, Snyder reiterates it’s not up to him to release it. Henry then talked about how he would love to see a version of the movie without the mustache.
Furthermore, a joke from Henry to Zack that he should release the cut spiraled into his wife joining in. All hope looked lost when he said he couldn’t show us the movie right now. But he could show us something else… A picture of the Justice League with Zack Snyder’s Justice League HBO Max 2021 on it.
So there you have it. The original version of Justice League is coming to HBO Max in 2021. Now we’re onto #releasetheAyerCut for Suicide Squad, right?
