Marvel Studios shut down the highly-anticipated Black Panther 2 set temporarily, earlier today.
The shut down comes in the wake of a severe injury to star Letitia Wright (Suri) in the later parts of this past August.
The stunt in question, involved the use of a stunt rig on-location in Boston. At the time of the injury, the accident wasn’t expected to delay the shooting schedule of BP 2.
Wright left for London after the accident. The film continued to shoot around Wright’s character. Unfortunately, director Ryan Coogler, finished all of the shootable scenes without Wright in the film.
BP2 shooting officially hit a standstill, and will enter a hiatus beginning the week of Thanksgiving. The production eyes an early 2022 restart date to finish the film.
Marvel Studios recently pushed back the release date of Wakanda Forever.
