1. CHRISTIAN BALE
Bale is the best actor to have ever taken on this role. I have one minor issue with this choice though…the cookie monster voice comes out. It’s not enough to downplay how great his physical performance as Batman and how great his version of Bruce Wayne really was.
Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy remains the best exploration of the Caped Crusader on the big screen. They’re also the only set of Batman films that feel like a true graphic novel.
The films were edgy, deep, epic, and eye-catching. Above all, they really gave viewers a full-circle exploration of Bruce Wayne and his existence as Batman.
Bale was serious as Bats, but at the right moments, certain touches of Bruce Wayne’s wit came out which only further added charisma to the portrayal. For these reasons, Bale remains my favorite portrayal of Batman. I’m sure he does for many others as well.
