Sophie Cookson is famous for her role as Roxy Morton in the Kingsman movies. She also stars alongside Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup in the Netflix Original Gypsy.
A character like Supergirl needs to be tough but vulnerable at the same time. Sophie shows she is able to play a character like that with her role as Roxy. While her Supergirl would be what fans are used to, I think her Kara will be more in-line with the DCEU’s version of Clark Kent.
Having a Kara who is different from the version on the television helps fans to differentiate between the two portrayals. Nobody wants to be compared to what is already there and the studio shouldn’t want to give fans more ammunition by doing so.
