Who Should Warner Brothers Cast as the new ‘Supergirl’?

Lily James is an actress who, let’s face it, has a great career ahead of it. Starring in Downton Abbey, Cinderella, Baby Driver and most recently Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again as a young Donna Sheridan she is no stranger to big roles. Being cast in the Mamma Mia sequel, she had big shoes to fill with playing a young Meryl Streep.
She is universally loved in the movie, and the same can be said for her Cinderella portrayal. These roles prove she can step into a fan-favorite role and smash it.
In her role as Donna Sheridan, Lily proves she can play a character who seems innocent but can be the opposite. She wouldn’t find it difficult to switch between Kara Danvers, the mild-mannered reporter, and Supergirl, the almost God-like Kryptonian.
Lily James will usually choose a character who goes against conventions. This is something Supergirl is good at doing and makes her a perfect fit for the role.
Of course, a superhero franchise may not be where Lily imagines herself, especially one that hasn’t had a good track record recently. There is still hope for the future though.
