DCEU: 5 Reasons to be Hyped for the future of DC Movies

Wonder Woman 84 (2019)

Diana Prince comes into conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the 1980s, and finds a formidable foe in the form of the Cheetah.

Wonder Woman 84 is the sequel to the box office smash hit Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot and directed by Patty Jenkins.

The sequel introduces audiences to Cheetah (Kristen Wigg). The film will also see the return of Chris Pine. Seeing as how his character died in the first film, his return will either be through flashback, memory sequence, or possibly even a look-alike descendant of the original Trevor.

The new costume is bright and colorful, which strays a bit from the doom-and-gloom of the past DC comics cinematic Snyder-verse.

Gal Gadot is the foundation of the DC Movie Universe, essentially taking the mantle from Batman. First appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans cited she was the best thing in the movie. With the release of Wonder Woman (2017) optimism soared in the minds of fans.

The movie was a box office smash raking in $821.9 million and becoming the highest grossing superhero movie until Marvel’s Black Panther. With Patty Jenkins at the wheel for the sequel, there is little to worry about here. The movie is in safe hands and should give fans hope for the future of the DCEU.

Next: Matt Reeves
