Fancast: Bad Robot’s ‘Justice League Dark’
When the Justice League isn’t equipped and when Superman is weakened to magic, a new type of hero group emerges. The Justice League Dark is a rotating group of magic users, demons, and talking chimp detectives. Normally, their notable members are Zatanna Zatara, John Constantine, the demon Etrigan and Deadman.
In recent iterations, the JLD has been joined by Wonder Woman, Detective Chimp, and Batman villain Man-Bat. Recently, news broke J.J Abrams and his production team are bringing the team to live-action as a series for HBO Max.
This isn’t the first time the team has been lined up for a live-action debut. A movie directed by Guillermo Del Toro was set to happen. The script was even complete and was said to be great.
Unfortunately, it never came to fruition which is a shame. Del Toro has shown his talents time and time again and he would have been an amazing choice for the team.
Currently, there’s no idea which characters will be used in the J.J. Abrams produced series. Fans are hoping to see Zatanna, Etrigan the Demon, and Deadman at last. There’s also the chance John Constantine will be in it and if he is, there’s also a higher chance he’ll be recast.
