#6 The Smithsonian SSR (Modified) Suit
The Smithsonian SSR (Modified) Suit came into play after Steve Rogers finds out that HYDRA’s infiltrated every facet of S.H.I.E.L.D. The super soldier goes on the run, and is forced to reclaim the Captain America suit from the Smithsonian Museum.
The suit resembles the SSR suit Howard Stark made him with a few alterations. the biggest visual change is that this suit has 3 red stripes instead of 2. The strapping is slightly different, the suit has reinforced knees, a different belt, and an embossed helmet.
This suit is susceptible to knives and gunfire, unlike Howard Stark’s suit, and is basically a museum quality replica. Or is it? According to Marvel chief Kevin Feige, Rogers had multiple uniforms all throughout WWII.
