The prequel trilogy came to a close on May 19, 2005, with Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It shows how a grown Anakin Skywalker becomes the villainous Darth Vander and how Supreme Chancellor is the architect behind the Galactic Republic’s downfall. Some of the dialogue is even now used as memes, especially those delivered by Ewan McGregor.

The Good

Order 66 onwards. As soon as that’s activated, the tone shifts and it feels similar to the Original Trilogy. It leads to the showdown between Obi-Wan and Anakin, which is an amazing sequence. It very well might be the best battle in the Prequel Trilogy.

Natalie Portman is at the beginning of her career and her performance gives glimpses into the future of the Academy Award-winning actress. When she finds out Anakin is a villain, she turns in a fantastic portrayal that will tug at your heart.

The quotable dialogue. Obi-Wan’s “I have the high ground” and “hello there” are constantly used by fans in conversations and memes. Another great moment is between Obi-Wan and Anakin debating on who the true evil is during the final battle.

The Bad

Again, the acting is suspect. I will say my problems with Hayden Christensen lessens once Anakin turns to the dark side. It could be because he relies more on his physicality and less on the dialogue. It’s there when he excels.

The underuse of Count Dooku again. After hardly using him in the second film, he’s killed straight away. It robs the audience of more from Sir Christopher Lee, who deserved a better script.

After the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin, the ending feels like it’s never going to come. It knows it has a lot to wrap up and due to it, there’s a lot of back-and-forths. This causes pacing problems.
