Star Wars was hampered by a really poor Metacritic rating for Return of the Jedi. It sits at a paltry 58 (out of 100) there. It’s interesting, as Return of the Jedi remains one of the fans top SW films. This is reflected in the audience scores where Star Wars does, however, hold the accolade of having the highest average audience score of 95.7.
So, is the Force with this trilogy? The Disney buyout should tell you that answer is yes. Star Wars created the action figure craze, and essentially kickstarted the dying genre of Science Fiction. Even with The Last Jedi creating a rift amongst fans, Star Wars still draws big opening night crowds and box office numbers.
The Original Trilogy started the entire craze and remains the standard that most other trilogies are held to.
