The Nun is directed by Corin Hardy. It boasts a cast consisting of Taissa Farmiga (the younger sister of Vera Farmiga).

Similar to Annabelle, The Nun is another a paint by numbers movie. In this respect, The Nun is a stereotypical story about a Demon who haunts an Abbey and summons a down on his luck Priest to fight it.

There are some scares in The Nun though. The finale of the movie is fear-inducing with cracking necks in a tense scene, Valak rising from the water to an incredibly creepy soundtrack.

The soundtrack for The Nun features the best compositions in The Conjuring universe. The track Valak isn’t one to listen to in the darkness, especially after watching The Nun.

Taissa’s Sister Irene is this entry’s Final Girl who gets to fight off the dangerous Demon. With her being a Nun, this is the most religious entry in the series so far.

In order to stop Valak, they must use the blood of Christ and set off on an adventure into the darkest parts of the Abbey to gain it. The Nun has a fun connection to The Conjuring movie near the end.

While The Nun didn’t live up to the expectations set by the main Conjuring movies, it’ll be a shame if Valak is never seen again.
