Nemesis Reloaded #5 is the next issue in the soft reboot of Millarworld’s infamous villain. Mark Millar writes it while the art is from Jorge Jiménez. Nemesis is a wealthy supervillain who can be seen as an evil Batman. However, he’s so much more than just that. He is sadistic, cunning and the last person you’d want to meet.
In the previous issue, Nemesis reveals he knows what happened to America’s lost president. Yes, there’s a lost president and only a select number know about it. Meanwhile, he’s got the Mayor right where he wants him and is ready to kill him on live TV. So, what happens next?
Unfortunately, this is the final issue in this volume of Nemesis Reloaded. Mark Millar promises this issue will be huge and with that, like I always do, there will be no spoilers. Whatever happens on these pages is for you to discover. My review will mainly cover the bare bones and look back at the volume as a whole.
Nemesis Reloaded #5 is tough to talk about without spoiling anything. All I can say about the story is that it continues his quest for vengeance. By the time you’ve finished reading this issue, you’ll want to go back and read the volume all over again. Nothing is what it seems in true Mark Millar fashion and even then you still don’t know the full story.
Nemesis Reloaded takes the greatness of the original run and improves on it. It’s more visceral and violent and even though Nemesis is a terrible person, you almost feel bad for the little boy trapped inside of him who refuses to come to terms with his past. Considering the original was one of my first Millarworld comics it’s been a pleasure to review the new series.
Jorge Jiménez’s art is continuously impressive too. Trying to put into words how visceral yet human his work was is no easy feat. You’ll have seen it throughout the series but this issue is even better. His style knows no bounds and it’s the perfect complement to the story.
Be sure to get this one as quickly as you can. You won’t want it spoiled and other Millarworld issues have sold out on the day.
