Spider-Man: Jumping from the Page to the Screen

Spider-M’am

Spider-M’am is an older woman who has the powers of the Spider-totem on Earth-3123. To put respect where it deserves, she isn’t just some woman. This is a Spider-Woman who is bitten by a spider after her nephew Peter Parker forgets his lunch.

That’s right. There is an Earth where Aunt May Reilly-Parker becomes the costumed hero. It’s also an Earth where Uncle Ben is still alive. He and Peter help her with crime fighting as the ‘men in the chair’.

May starts out trying to earn money by doing stunts but after fighting a criminal she vows to use her powers to help others.

Bringing in Aunt May as a Spider-Woman is a great idea. It shows what could have happened in the family if somebody wiser ends up with the powers. If Insomniac ever opens their version to a multiverse, it’d be nice to see Peter meet Spider-M’am.

In animation, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her turn up in a Spider-Verse sequel. Aunt May in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is already a fighter who sticks up for those who need her. It’s not a big leap to imagine a version with Peter’s powers.

If they do introduce her, it’d be make sense to be in the all-female team-up Spider-Verse movie.
