‘Star Wars’ Characters Who Need to Come to Live-Action

Doctor Aphra

Imagine a lovable archaeologist who is constantly getting into trouble with a ragtag crew. No, I’m not talking about Indiana Jones. Although, Doctor Chlli Lona Aphra is Star Wars’ answer to the Harrison Ford character. Created by Kieron Gillen, Doctor Aphra is first seen in the Darth Vader solo series.

She then spins-off to her own series after faking her death. She did this after her partnership with Darth Vader went sideways. Afterwards, she scours the universe for artifacts and does the odd smuggling job.

She’s helped by two assassin droids, Triple-Zero and BT-1 and a bounty hunting Wookie named Black Krrsantan.

Doctor Aphra is one of the most beloved characters from the comics and novels. Bringing her into live-action would make fans happy and she could easily carry her own show on Disney+.

Although, given what she does, it also wouldn’t be surprising if she crosses paths with Din Djarin in The Mandalorian.

If there is one thing Star Wars hasn’t done well it’s the inclusion of LGBT. Their first official LGBT couple in live-action was a one second moment in The Rise of Skywalker.

In her comics, Doctor Aphra has dated a woman called Magna Tolvan. Bringing her into live-action would give Star Wars more diversity. It will also give LGBT fans something they should have seen a long time ago.

There is a female-centric series coming from the creator of Russian Doll, Leslye Headland. Not much is known about her Disney+ series but fans are holding out for it to include Doctor Aphra.

If it doesn’t, then we can only hope Disney will do what’s right at some point and give Doctor Aphra the respect she deserves.
