17. SHATTERSTAR
Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) was only in the film for a brief moment, but in the X-Force comics, Shatterstar is a staple. He was created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, and first appeared in New Mutants #99. He has an origin in the film that is close to that of the comics. Shatterstar is an alien from an extra-dimensional planet called Mojoworld. In the comics, Shatterstar co-founded the X-Force.
The character briefly showed up in Peter David and Valentine De Landro’s X-Factor, and now primarily serves as a supporting character to the X-Men.
In the film, this storyline is not a possibility, as Tan’s version parachuted into the rotating blades of a helicopter, splattering his green, alien blood all over the place. It was a memorable scene in the film, although most of the founding class of the X-Force met an untimely death. Hopefully, the actual X-Force film will give the team a longer lifespan than Deadpool 2 offered them.
