16. PETER (WISDOM)
This might be a bit of a stretch but stay with me. Peter (Rob Delaney) might have been an early version of the character called Peter Wisdom. Deadpool 2 Peter had no mutant powers, he just wanted to have a good time. In the promotional material for the film, there are hints that Peter might be a less-than-stellar version of Peter Wisdom.
The comics version of Peter Wisdom was a mutant secret agent and a member of Excalibur, the British sister club of the X-Men. He was created by Warren Ellis and Ken Lashley, debuting in Excalibur #86 in 1995. His mutant ability was that he could create ‘hot knives’ of plasma from his fingertips. Wisdom also showed up in the X-Force comics and even led the team for a stint.
On the Twitter page for Peter, it says that his last name starts with a ‘W’ and that he works as a salesman for the Excalibur Cutlery Co. Either these are strategic hints that Peter has a bigger role in the future of the franchise, or they are brilliant nods to the origins of the character. Either way, it is an incredible cameo.
