Halloween: Five Horror Video Games to Play

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil is one of the most famous horror video games. It’s possibly also the longest-running. The original game was released back in 1996. It revolves around Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Barry Burton and Albert Wesker investigating a mansion. They’re looking for their missing Alpha Team. It’s here where they make the discovery the Pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corp is evil. The next game Resident Evil 2 introduces new characters. These are Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kenndy, Ada Wong and Sherry Birkin.

That game was released in 1998. Jump to over 20 years later and the game returns. Resident Evil 2 Remake uses the latest technology to retell the story. It brings back Claire, Leon, Ada etc while putting a new spin on what fans know. This game isn’t just seen as one of the best Resident Evil games, it’s actually one of the best horror games.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is a survival horror. The main goal is to make sure you conserve your ammunition and don’t just shoot for the sake of it. This gets harder to do when a tyrant stalker enemy appears. Anyone who knows this series knows all about Mr X. He’s the scariest tyrant in the series. He’s mostly indestructible but can be put down for a limited time if you shoot him enough. There are a lot of reasons to try and stay away from him.

You’d think being able to hear Mr X coming for you would be helpful. It’s not. If you’re in one room and he’s in the next, his stomping creates a deadly aura of fear. The closer he gets to you, the louder he becomes. Before you go into any room, always make sure you have an escape plan. Furthermore, always be wary of your surroundings.

Resident Evil 2 Remake has no shortage of its puzzles either. The boss fights are fun and there’s even a section where you play a deadly game of hide and seek with a human more awful than most of the monsters.
