New ‘Star Wars’ Series and Movies Revealed

Live-Action Shows

Two more series have been announced but there is little on them compared to the others. The first is The Acolyte. It’s a mystery-thriller helmed by Russian Doll showrunner Leslye Headland. The Acolyte explores the final days of the High Republic as secrets and dark powers come to light.

The High Republic is being explored more in all forms of media due to the multiplatform High Republic project. It’s unclear who will star in the series or when it’ll go into production.

The final live-action series announced is one that brings back a fan-favorite from the original trilogy. Lando follows the scoundrel Lando Calrissian and it’s being developed by Justin Simien, the creator of Dear White People.

It’s unknown which Lando the event follows. Whether it’s Billy Dee’s Lando pre or post-Rise of Skywalker or if it’s the younger Lando in Donald Glover. Current theories suggest it might even be both with Billy Dee narrating and Donald Glover starring.
