The biggest secret on launch day was who the villain of Deadpool 2 was going to be. There were a lot of rumors, but it wasn’t until the final trailer released did eagle-eyed viewers begin to put together that Juggs was in the film.
Juggernaut first appeared in 1965s X-Men #12, and to this day remains one of the X-Men’s most-formidable foes. Deadpool 2 was the second time that Juggernaut has graced the big screen, but is the first time is accurate to the comics. It took a number of powerful mutants working together to get him down, and even then, it was clear that he wouldn’t be down for long.
Another feature transplanted from the comics for Deadpool 2, was Juggernauts hatred of his step-brother, Professor Xavier. Juggernaut wears a large, heavy helmet to keep Xavier from toying around in his head.
Vinnie Jones was the first actor to bring Juggernaut to life in X-Men: Last Stand, but his portrayal of the character was missing most of the best parts of Juggernaut. It is nice to see Deadpool embrace the comic features of most of these characters. According to DP2 screenwriter Rhett Reese, Ryan Reynolds voiced Juggs and did the facial motion capture for the villain.
Juggernaut was also one of the first villains that Deadpool encountered in the comics.

Next: #2 Wolverine
