Twice Upon Time is the final episode of Peter Capaldi’s Doctor. It sees him refusing to regenerate while his original self, who is portrayed by David Bradley here but was originally played by William Hartnell, also refuses.
A General from World War I is taken from time and it’s up to the Two Doctors to figure out what’s gone wrong with time.
While some took contempt with how the First Doctor was written, there were many other moments to push this episode into the top 3.
From Bradley’s portrayal, to the moment of the ceasefire on Christmas Day during World War I, and of course the regeneration of 12, the episode was a rollercoaster ride.
The 12th Doctor’s regeneration called back to his previous statements and summed up who he was perfectly.
“Laugh hard. Run fast. Be kind.”
