Since its revival in 2005, Doctor Who has aired a special episode on December 25 to give its fans an extra treat. However, this year there will be no special episode on Christmas Day.
Instead, the first special for Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor will air New Year’s Day 2019. Resolution will see the return of the 13th Doctor, Yaz, Ryan, and Graham as seen in the Synopsis:
As the new year begins, a terrifying evil from across the centuries of Earth’s history is stirring. As the Doctor, Ryan, Graham and Yaz return home, will they be able to overcome the threat to planet Earth?
Normally the Christmas specials are a chance for the Showrunner to have more fun with their story.
Bar the Ninth Doctor every other Doctor from the revived series has regenerated during a Holiday special.
