Popcorn Sushi’s Top 13 Doctor Who Holiday Specials
It was the story that started it all, for the specials and for David Tennant’s Doctor.
While The Doctor spent a majority of the episode out of commission it was up to Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), Prime Minister Harriet Jones (Penelope Winton) and Mickey ‘the Idiot’ Smith (Noel Clarke) to protect Earth from the evil Sycorax.
It showed why Earth needs The Doctor, and how cruel our planet can be. Serving as an introduction for David Tennant, fans got to see what sort of Doctor he would be and he didn’t disappoint.
There is a lot to love about this episode, from its story, to the acting, and the jokes and the 10th Doctor’s entrance on the Sycorax ship but the blossoming friendship between Rose and the new Doctor is where the heart comes from.
